This Portland project was a semi-industrial storage warehouse, not a residential property. The building has an enclosed office on the main floor with usable space above it, and the owner needed safe, direct access to that upper level from the warehouse floor.
Rental Fixers built a new wood staircase running from the warehouse floor up to the area above the office, along with the handrail and guardrail down the full length of the stair and across the open edge at the top. The stringers were cut and assembled on site, and the stair was set against the office wall to keep the surrounding floor space clear for storage use.
